Basaksehir 1-1 Rizespor: – League Leaders Drop Points For Second Week Running

Basaksehir were held to a 1-1 draw against Rizespor at the Fatih Terim stadium on Sunday in the Super Lig.

The Istanbul based outfit dropped points for the second week running after losing 2-1 to Besiktas last week.

Basaksehir were fortunate to earn themselves a single point as they were losing until the sixth minute of additional time.

Vedat Muriqi game the visitors the lead on 62 minutes and looked to have earned his side three points until Edin Visca equalised from the penalty spot.

Muriqi now has been directly involved in seven of Rizespor’s last 10 games – five goals and two assists.

The draw saw 2nd placed Galatasaray close the gap with leaders Basaksehir to just three points.

Third-placed Besiktas could close the point difference to just eight with a victory over Sivasspor.
