Başakşehir aiming for Europa League football says Avcı [divider]
Başakşehir manager Abdullah Avcı underlined that he aims to qualify for Europe at the end of the season.
The Istanbul minnows are currently in 5th place, just one point behind 4th place Bursaspor.
“Our goal is to qualify for Europe, Trabzonspor and Bursaspor are our closest competition,” Avcı told AA.
The recently promoted side have been in great form this season and performed above most pundits pre-season expectations.
Başakşehir have kept 11 clean sheets this season and have the best defensive record in the league.
Avcı’s side have conceded the fewest goals in the league. The Istanbul minnows have only let in 12 league in total this season.
Başakşehir have only let in nine goals at home and only three on the road. The Istanbul based side have one of the best defensive records in Europe.
Avcı’s side travel to Trabzon on the weekend to take on Trabzonspor at the Avni Aker stadium.
