Başakşehir held Bursaspor to a goalless draw on Friday 28 November, taking their clean sheet tally to seven games this season.

The Istanbul based club have the best defensive record in the league this season, only conceding five goals in 11 games.

Başakşehir manager Abdullah Avcı revealed that he has been pleased with his sides defensive performances but wants more from the forwards.

“We got into a few good positions but our final passes and finishing must improve,” Avcı said.

“We could have been a few places higher in the table had we scored more this season.

“But we are a developing side and defend well, we have kept a clean sheet in seven out of our 11 games this season.

“Bursaspor are a very good side, they press well and did not give us a lot of time on the ball. They keep possession well and their fullbacks offer width. The midfield trio constantly press and put the opposition under pressure.

“At the end of the day I thought a draw was a fair result.”

Başakşehir moved into eight place following the draw, meanwhile Bursaspor remain in fifth position.
