Basaksehir Lose First Super Lig Game Of The Season To Malatyaspor

Basaksehir suffered a shock 3-0 defeat against Malatyaspor in their opening Super Lig game of the season.

Malatyaspor beat last seasons runners-up at the Malatya Arena.

Guilherme opened the scoring for the home side on 68 minutes.

Adis Jahovic put the game out of reach after scoring his sides second goal on 87 minutes and Fofana added a third in the second minute of additional time.

To make matters worse for Basaksehir Irfan Can Kahveci was sent off.

The Turkey international has now received a red card in his first two games of the season.

Okan Buruk ended up losing his first league game in charge of the Istanbul based outfit after replacing Abdullah Avci as head coach.

Avci meanwhile also lost his first game of the campaign away to Sivasspor.

In fact, not one of last seasons top four won their first game of the campaign.

Galatasaray lost 2-0 against newly-promoted Denizlispor and Trabzonspor were held to a 1-1 draw away to Kasimpasa.
