Leverkusen will have their other Turkish player Hakan Çalhanoğlu. The 21-year-old is expected to start against the La Liga champions.

Çalhanoğlu joined Bayer for €14.5 million this summer – the highest fee ever paid for a Turkish international.

The young midfielder was named best young player of the 2013/14 season by leading German football magazine 11 Freunde.

The 21-year-old has a reputation as being a set piece specialist and has scored seven direct free-kicks in the Bundesliga in his career.

Atleti will be without star player Koke and Arda Turan is also a doubt.

Turan became the first Turkish international to win the La Liga title last season and also played an important role in Atleti reaching the Champions League final.
