Arsenal star Mesut Ozil missed his fifth successive game after failing to recover from a back injury in time for the Huddersfield clash.
Ozil also missed the North London derby against Tottenham and the Manchester United clash in the Premier League with the same problem.
Despite being out due to injury and not for other reasons BBC pundit Pat Nevin believes that Ozil is not an Unai Emery type of player and that the team are not as dynamic when he plays.
“Mesut Ozil is a fabulous player but it’s not as dynamic when he’s playing,” Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“If you take him out of it, they’re more dynamic which gets the fans up – which can help the players.”
Nevin revealed that he would not be surprised to see Ozil leave the club on a transfer move and that perhaps he should have last parted ways beforehand.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he moved on,” the 55-year-old continued.
“The right time for him to move was last time. His value has decreased.”
Despite Nevin’s latest statement, Ozil has not signaled that he is unhappy at Arsenal or that he wants to leave.
He is the highest paid player in the squad and only recently extended his contract deal, although that did happen under the stewardship of former manager Arsene Wenger.
