Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic has launched a verbal attack on Arsenal star playmaker Mesut Ozil.

Ozil has endured a turbulent summer after posing for a photo with Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Things went from and to worse after Germany crashed out of the 2018 World Cup.

The Arsenal midfielder decided to retire from international football earlier this month citing discrimination and racism.

However, Frankfurt sporting director Bobic has labelled Mesut Ozil a coward for his decision.

Bobic went onto refute the claims made by Mesut Ozil regarding the German FA.

“I think that’s a bit cowardly,” Bobic told Bild am Sonntag .

“Ozil’s criticism of social media, especially in the direction of the German Football Association (DFB), is unbearable.

“This blanket charge of racism simply does not correspond to reality. “

“He could have given an interview somewhere, live on TV. For us footballers, the rule is ‘be a man and stand up.'”

Ozil recently returned to pre-season training with the rest of the Arsenal squad and travelled with the squad to Singapore.
