Fabri confirmed afterwards that he had reached an agreement with Fulham.

“As you know the Premier League is a major league and one I am interested in joining. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing but there is a verbal agreement with Fulham. I want to thank Beşiktaş for my time here,” Fabri said.

The 30-year-old joined Besiktas on a free transfer from Deportivo de la Coruna in 2016.

Jose Sambade was Fabri’s goalkeeper coach at Deportivo.

Sambade later joined Besiktas were he urged the club to sign the keeper.

The coach, now at Fulham, played a role in convincing Fabri to join the Premier League outfit as well.
