Besiktas agree terms with Karabukspor defender

Besiktas have reached an agreement with Karabükspor over the transfer of Erdem Özgenç.

Negotiations for the 30-year-old right back concluded last night between the two teams with a €1 million fee being agreed upon.

Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic will meet with the clubs Director of Football Ahmet Nur Çebi this weekend to discuss whether to complete the transfer.

The Istanbul based club have been linked with a long list of right backs in recent weeks as they currently have no alternative to Serdar Kurtuluş in their squad.

Beşiktaş conceded goals against Erciyesspor and Fenerbahce down their right flank when they were forced to play Necip Uysal – a central midfielder – at right back.

The Eagles have also been linked with Udinese’s Allan Nyom, Molde’s Martin Linnes and Cuzeiro right back Mayke in recent weeks.

Özgenç has made one assist and scored one goal in 13 appearances for Karabükspor this season.

The 30-year-old has spent three and a half seasons at Karabükspor since joining in 2011 from Boluspor.
