Besiktas came close to signing Watford’s Mexico international Miguel Layun

Besiktas were in talks to sign the Mexico international Miguel Layun from Club América.
However, the 26-year-old full-back signed for La Liga side Granada and was immediately loaned to Watford.
Besiktas had offered Layun a three and a half year contract at €400,000 wages in the first year of the contract.
Layun subsequently signed for Granada for an undisclosed fee.
The Mexican international scored six goals in 17 appearances for Club América this season.
The 26-year-old played at left wing-back for the Mexico in all four of their World Cup finals matches in Brazil.
Layun is has joined Watford on loan for the rest of the season after signing a five-year deal with Granada.
