Following their recent parting ways with Rıza Çalımbay, Beşiktaş has turned its attention to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as a potential replacement for the manager’s seat according to NTV Spor.

The Turkish giants have reportedly initiated negotiations with the former Manchester United boss.

Riza Calimbay was sacked after just seven games in charge and became the third Besiktas manager to be sacked this season after Senol Gunes and Burak Yilmaz.

Beşiktaş are currently 5th in the Super Lig 17 points behind leaders Fenerbahce.

Solskjaer, widely respected for his playing career at Manchester United and Molde, brings extensive coaching experience to the table.

He started his coaching journey as the club’s striker coach in 2008, later progressing to manager of the reserve team.

Solskjaer then honed his skills at Molde and Cardiff before returning to Manchester United in a caretaker role in 2018. His initial success led to a permanent contract in 2019, however, he departed the club two years later.

Reports suggest Beşiktaş has tabled a 1.5-year offer to Solskjaer, a tempting proposition for the Norwegian manager eager to get back into the game.

Whether Solskjaer embraces the challenge and guides Beşiktaş back to glory remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the potential reunion with Turkish football promises to be an exciting journey for both the club and the fans.
