Besiktas General Manager issues warning to Manchester United
Besiktas general manager Ahmet Urkmezgil believes that nobody should underestimate the Turkish giants in the Europa League.
Urkmezgil was asked what he thought about the prospect of facing Manchester United if Besiktas qualify for the quarter-finals.

The general manager revealed that while he has the upmost respect for United, Besiktas do not fear the Red Devils and have beat clubs of similar stature in the past.
“There are teams like Manchester United but there are also teams like Besiktas, who haven’t we beat in the past? I would warn United and everyone else not to underestimate us,” Urkmezgil was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.
Urkmezgil also revealed that he feels Besiktas have the quality to reach the final of the tournament.
“We believe we can reach the final, why not? if we don’t believe what is the point anyway. We are not getting ahead of ourselves but if you are not playing for the big prize then you may as well not turn up,” he added.
Besiktas do have an impressive pedigree in the Europa League and did knock out Liverpool at the Round of 32 stage back in 2015.
The same season the Black Eagles also beat Premier League outfit Tottenham.
United have already faced Turkish opposition this season in the group stage.
Fenerbahce finished top of Group A, ahead of runners-up United but bowed out at the Round of 32 against the Red Devils Last 16 opponents Krasnador.
If Besiktas and United are to face each other they are going to have to first book a place in the next round.
Besiktas held Olympiakos to a 1-1 draw in Greece while United drew 1-1 against Krasnado in Russia in their first leg ties.
