Besiktas have made an offer for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud according to the Fanatik sports newspaper.
Per the source, the Istanbul giants are planning to replace Alvaro Negredo with Giroud.
The Spanish international had his contract terminated through mutual consent before joining UAE outfit Al Nassr leaving Besiktas lacking options up front.
The report claims that the Black Eagles have held talks with Giroud’s agent who has given the green light for further negotiations to go ahead.
Besiktas have offered Chelsea €5m for the France international.
Giroud has under 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to be offered an extension.
The French striker will be able to enter direct talks with clubs in January and will be a free transfer next summer unless the Blues offer him a new deal.
Chelsea are reportedly prepared to let the striker leave for the right price.

Giroud currently earns €7m per-season and while Besiktas would not be prepared to match his current wages the departure of Negredo has free up €4.3m.
With Negredo out of the picture Besiktas manager Senol Gunes has rotated Cyle Larin, Ryan Babel and Vagner Love upfront.
Giroud has three assists in seven appearances this season but has played just 299 minutes of football for the Blues.
Besiktas are currently second in the Super Lig and first in the Europa League Group I.
