Reigning Turkish Super Lig champions Besiktas are planning to strengthen their squad over the summer transfer window following a turbulent season.
A source close to the Istanbul based club has revealed to Turkish-Football.com that Besiktas are in contact with Borussia Dortmund star Nuri Sahin. Per the source Besiktas are keen to complete the transfer in the coming weeks however, it is unclear whether Nuri Sahin is willing to leave his boyhood club.
Besiktas starred in the early stages of the UEFA Champions League but have struggled to maintain their form throughout the season. Besiktas currently find themselves in fourth in the league, four points behind leaders Galatasaray.
With just two games to go, Besiktas need both Basaksehir and Fenerbahce to drop points if they are to play Champions League football next season.
To make matters worse, the Black Eagles are likely to lose star playmaker Anderson Talisca at the end of the season while Oguzhan Ozyakup’s contract expires this summer.
Besiktas take on Osmanlispor in the Turkish Super Lig this weekend.
