Turkish giants Besiktas are interested in signing Rangers midfielder Tom Lawrence according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano tweeted on X: “Besiktas are showing initial interest in Tom Lawrence at Glasgow Rangers. Ole Gunnar Solskjær coached him at Man United and now he has 6 months left on his deal, available for free in January.”

The former Manchester United player, who worked under Ole Gunnar Solskjær at Old Trafford, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Lawrence has been sidelined with injury since November and has fallen out of favor under current Rangers manager Michael Beale.

Besiktas, managed by Solskjær, are exploring the possibility of signing the Welsh international.

The former United boss and player has just been appointed manager of Besiktas and the club want to make transfers before the end of the January window to support their new man.

This news comes as Rangers continue to reshape their squad during the January transfer window.

The club has already sanctioned loan moves for young players Robbie Fraser and Cole McKinnon, while a loan deal for Lille defender Rafael Fernandes is also in the works.

With his contract expiring in the summer, Lawrence could be available on a free transfer, making him an attractive option for Besiktas.
