Besiktas have made Basaksehir manager Abdullah Avci their priority target to replace Senol Gunes.

The Black Eagles confirmed to Turkish-Football that Avci is a target and talks will be held with the former Turkey national team manager.

Besiktas have already held talks with Basaksehir over permission to negotiate with their current head coach.

The Black-Whites are currently without a manager after Gunes parted ways with the club to take charge of the Turkey national team.

Avci is one of the most highly rated managers in the league after several years or impressive results with Basaksehir.

The 55-year-old manager elevated the Istanbul minnows from a newly formed, unheard of club to title challengers over the past few seasons.

Basaksehir took Galatasaray to the wire this term narrowly missing out on the league title, finishing as runners-up for the second season running.

Besiktas meanwhile finished the campaign in 3rd place and will compete in the Europa League next season.
