Besiktas move another step closer to signing Aleksander Kolarov after Manchester City gave the experienced full-back the green light to leave a source close to the Istanbul giants told Turkish-football.com.
The Black Eagles have been locked in talks with City over the past few days and are nearing a deal with the Serbian international.
Recently appointed City boss Pep Guardiola does not have plans for Kolarov next season and Besiktas have made an attractive offer.
Besiktas are expected to sign Kolarov for a transfer fee in the region of £3 million but want to keep his salary below £2 million.
Kolarov is expected to join Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo who is very likely to join the Istanbul based outfit on loan.
Besiktas won the league title last season and will be able to offer Kolarov first team and Champions League football next season.
Kolarov would join fellow Serbian international Dusko Tosic at Besiktas if he were to make the move.
