Besiktas must win for the sake of Turkish football says Serdar Kurtuluş [divider]
Beşiktaş right-back Serdar Kurtuluş revealed that Beşiktaş are not only playing for themselves but also to raise Turkey’s co-efficient points.
The Black Eagles take on Asteras in the Europa League Group C in Greece.
“We are playing for Turkey here, this game will influence all of our co-efficients,” Kurtuluş said.
“We want to win and benefit our country.”
Kurtuluş also underlined that Beşiktaş must be careful of Asteras’s counter attacks.
“Asteras are a well organised side and we must be careful of their counter attacking threat,” Kurtuluş said.
“We saw how dangerous they can be the first time we played against them.
“We are well prepared this time and know what has to be done.
“Our goal has always been to secure a place in the next round and finish the group in first place.
“We want to beat Asteras and continue on our path.”
Beşiktaş are currently joint first with Tottenham on eight points, the Black Eagles need a draw to qualify.
