Beşiktaş manager Slaven Bilic has revealed that his side panicked against Club Brugge in the Europa League Last 16 second leg game.

The Black Eagles lost the return-leg 3-1 at the Atatürk Olympic stadium and ended up bowing out of the competition 5-2 on aggregate.

“Despite opening the second half with a great goal, the team failed to take control. After 1-1, I was hoping for a comeback, but we panicked and moved away from our game plan,” Bilic told the official Beşiktaş website.

Beşiktaş blew a one goal lead against the Belgium side and ended up conceding three times on home turf for the first time in European competition this season.

The Black Eagles also scored first in Belgium but ended up losing 2-1 as well.

Süper Lig leaders Beşiktaş will take on Fenerbahçe next on Sunday.

The Black Eagles have the chance to extend the gap with third placed Fenerbahçe to seven points with a win.
