Besiktas Snubbed £88m World Cup Star Targeted By Liverpool, Could Have Signed Barcelona Star For £2.2m

Barcelona defender Yerry Mina has been closely linked with a summer exit.

Mina became the first defender to score in his first three World Cup games for Colombia before they crashed out at the Last 16 stage against England.

The 1.95m tall centre-back has had no shortage of interest after his impressive campaign.

Besiktas may be kicking themselves after watching his World Cup campaign.

Sporx claim that football agent Deniz Turker offered Mina to Besiktas while he was playing for Sante Fe in 2016.

The Super Lig outfit had the option to sign the 23-year-old for just €2.5m (£2.2m).

Besiktas snubbed Mina who ended up moving to Palmeiras following by a £10.4m [€11.8m] transfer to Barcelona in January 2018.

Turkish newspaper Fotomac recently reported that Mina is on Liverpool’s radar.

The Reds are reportedly ‘weighing up’ a move for Colombia’s World Cup 2018 star.

The report goes onto state that Barca are open to offloading Mina this summer in order to free up a non-EU spot in their squad.

Marca report that Barcelona want Arthur Melo from Gremio over the summer but his transfer could mean a summer exit for Mina.

Fenerbahce have also been linked with Mina but Turkish-Football report that the Super Lig outfit are beginning to look for alternatives following a spike in interest for the Colombia international.
