Besiktas suffered a shock 3-0 defeat against Sivasspor at the Yeni 4 Eylul stadium on in their opening Super Lig game of the 2019-20 season on Saturday 19 August.
Abdullah Avci lost his first game in charge of the Black Eagles after replacing Senol Gunes as manager earlier this summer.
The home side took the lead on 30 minutes after Mert Hakan Yandas scored giving Sivasspor a one-goal lead heading into half-time.
Yatabare scored soon after the interval with an impressive strike but Emre Kilinc saved the best until last with a spectacular long-range goal – although Besiktas goalkeeper Utku Yuvakuran should probably have done better.
The Black-Whites struggled to really create an opening against a well organised Sivasspor defence.
Tyler Boyd and Ruiz made their debut for Besiktas.
All in all it was a poor display from the visitors who like Istanbul rivals Galatasaray lost their first game of the new season.
Besiktas take on Goztepe next on Friday 23 August in their first game at the Vodafone Park Stadium.
