Besiktas have been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Slovakian centre back Martin Skrtel.
According to the Turkish Super Lig broadcaster LigTV, the Black Eagles are preparing an offer for the 30-year-old who’s contract expires at the end of next season.
The report goes onto state that Besiktas have held early talks Skrtel’s representatives. The Serie A side Inter have also expressed an interest in the Liverpool defender recently.
Skrtel is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal and has stated that he will take his time in assessing the offer on the table.
“There is always talk about my position and my future”, Skrtel told Liverpool’s official website.
“Almost every single transfer window there is always talk about myself leaving Liverpool and interest from other clubs.
“But as it stands, I still have a contract with Liverpool, I have an offer from Liverpool and we’ll see where we finish.”
Liverpool signed the Slovakian international from Zenit St. Petersburg back in 2008. The 3-year-old defender is now closing on 300 appearances for the Merseyside club.
Skrtel has made 48 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
Besiktas finished the Turkish Super Lig season in third place and will play in the Europa League next season.
