Beşiktaş is reportedly intensifying its efforts to bolster its squad for the upcoming Super League season, with Premier League striker Igor Thiago of Brentford emerging as a prime target according to Fanatik.
The Black Eagles are keen to address their attacking needs, particularly after facing challenges in front of goal last season.
The Istanbul club has set its sights on the 1.91m tall Brazilian center-forward, who is currently with Brentford. Thiago, 23, joined the English side from Belgium’s Club Brugge at the beginning of last season in a move reportedly worth €33 million. He is noted for his physical prowess, aerial ability, and finishing skills.

Beşiktaş management believes that despite his relatively young age, Thiago has already gained valuable European experience that could make him a significant force in the Turkish Super League. Initial contact has been established with Brentford regarding a potential transfer.
While the English club is not actively seeking to sell the player outright, Beşiktaş is expected to propose a loan deal, potentially with an option to buy. Early discussions are understood to have been positive, even though Brentford has yet to state a definitive stance.
It is understood that Igor Thiago, who reportedly did not fully meet expectations in the Premier League last season, is receptive to the idea of joining a team where he can secure a regular starting role.
Although other clubs outside England have expressed interest, Beşiktaş’s ambitious project and clear objectives have reportedly captured the player’s attention. Initial discussions with Thiago’s representatives suggest the player views a move to Turkey favorably.
