Besiktas president Firket Orman is set to travel to England to hold talks with Liverpool over the loan transfer of Divock Origi according to the Gunes newspaper.
Per the source, the Black Eagles have made signing a new forward a priority.
The board are reportedly unhappy with Alvaro Negredo, Vagner Love and Cyle Larin.
Besiktas have struggled to replace the goals provided by Cenk Tosun since his move to Everton
The problem is the Istanbul giants pay Negredo £4m [€4.3m], Love £1.5 [€1.8m] and Mustafa Pektemek – who is fourth choice striker – £1.4 [€1.6m] per-season.
The club are hoping to slash their wage bill by moving on at least one of the mentioned players.
Liverpool had valued Origi as being worth £27m but he is running out of time and options to find a new club.
The Belgium international was not named in the matchday squad against West Ham in the opening Premier League game of the weekend.
Origi is expected to struggle for playing time if he stays at Liverpool after dropping down the pecking order.
The 23-year-old will be unable to join another Premier League side as the transfer window has shut.
Valencia were closely linked but are now very unlikely to make a move after signing Michy Batshuayi on a season-long loan and Kevin Gameiro from Atletico Madrid. Valencia can also call on Spanish international Rodrigo Moreno, as well as Simone Zaza.
The report does not state whether Besiktas want Origi on loan – which would be difficult considering he has just 12 months left on his contract – but they would be unable to offer a figure even close to £26m.
