Beşiktaş vice-president denies reaching agreement with Martin Linnes [divider]
Beşiktaş vice-president Ahmet Nur Çebi has denied reaching an agreement with Molde right-back Martin Linnes.
“Our scouting department are looking for candidates to transfer as a right-back,” Çebi said.
“There are three names we are keeping tabs on but reports that I flew to Norway and agreed a deal with Martin Linnes are incorrect.
“We are still on the search for a new right-back and have yet to reach a decision.”
The Black Eagles have played much of the season without a right-back due to injuries and a lack of depth.
Midfielders Necip Uysal and Atiba Hutchinson have had to fill in as make shift right-backs from time to time this season.
Beşiktaş have also been linked with Dinamo Zagreb’s Ivo Pinto, Cruzeiro’s Mayke and Udinese’s Cameroon international Nyom.
Linnes has provided seven assists and scored five goals in 38 games in 2014.
