Predictions: Turkish league previews – Fenerbahce’s last test before Man Utd

The Sunday round of Turkish league – Super Lig – games sees Basaksehir battling to stay top of the league, Trabzonspor hoping to get back on track, Bursaspor looking to close the gap with the leading pack and Fenerbahce prepare for their last test before the Manchester United clash next week.

Check out our betting tips and Super Lig previews below:

Basaksehir v Konyaspor

League leaders Basaksehir have been on fire and head into the Konyaspor clash with a clean bill of health. Konyaspor have one of the toughest defences in the league and Aykut Kocaman like his counterpart at Basaksehir – Abdullah Avci – is one of the most highly rated up and coming managers in the league. The Istanbul minnows are getting to a stage where they should really not be considered underdogs anymore. Avci has worked wonders on a shoestring budget and they have now consistently managed to challenge the leading pack for the past few seasons. Konyaspor will be no pushovers but Basaksehir have a great record against the visitors – undefeated in their last nine encounters. This is likely to be a low scoring affair but there is value on the home side not to lose.

Prediction: Basaksehir Draw No Bet

Bursaspor v Osmanlispor

This is a really tough game to call. Bursaspor have started to get into a rhythm under the stewardship of Hamza Hamzaoglu and have risen into fourth place. Osmanlispor however, simply cannot be underestimated. The home side do like to play open, attacking based football which leaves them vulnerable to the Osmanlispor counter attack but they should be able to find the back of the net themselves. The last four games between these two sides have ended in Over 2.5 goals and we expect that trend to continue.

Prediction: Over 2.5 goals

Fenerbahce v Alanyaspor

Fenerbahce face their final test before the Manchester United clash next Thursday with what on paper looks like a pretty straightforward game at home against Alanyaspor. The Yellow Canaries could however, be without Jeremain Lens who has been in splendid form as well as Hasan Ali Kaldirim and Ozan Tufan. The Istanbul giants have not exactly been in the best of form lately but this is the perfect chance to take advantage of a newly promoted side down on their luck. Alanyaspor have conceded eight goals in their last two games and it would be a huge surprise if they were to escape the Sukru Saracoglu with a single point.

Prediction: Fenerbahce -1 (Asian Handicap)

Trabzonspor v Akhisar

Trabzonspor boss Ersun Yanal is under immense pressure after an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Karabukspor. There is simply no reason why a squad of the calibre Yanal has at his disposal should be struggling as much as they have been. The Black Sea Storm have an opportunity to pick up some points at home against an Akhisar side that have failed to win 10 of their last 11 matches in the league.

Prediction: Trabzonspor Win
