Bookmaker Suspends Betting On Arsenal Star Finding New Club Ahead Of Emirates Exit Confirmation

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere will be leaving the Emirates on a free transfer at the end of the month.

Turkish-Football reported that the England midfielder is nearing a deal with Fenerbahce.

The Istanbul giants offered a three-year contract worth in the region of €4 million-per-season with a €5m sign-on fee.

An agreement-in-principle was reached with Wilshere’s representatives but the transfer has yet to be completed.

Bookmaker Betway responded to the latest developments by suspending betting on Wilshere’s next club odds.

London.Football quote Betway’s Alan Alger as saying: “Jack Wilshere’s departure from Arsenal would have interested plenty of clubs both in England and abroad, particularly as he showed on more than one occasion last season that he has plenty more to give.

“Fenerbahce had emerged as the clear frontrunners to sign the 26-year-old and were backed into 1/8 to bring the midfielder to the Turkey, before heightened betting activity on Friday, running in line with reports a deal is close to being agreed, meant we’ve had to suspend betting on him making the switch to the Süper Lig.”

Additionally, Ladbrokes slashed odds on Wilshere to join Fenerbahce making them heavy favorites.

West Ham, AC Milan, Crystal Palace and Everton have all seen their odds drift.
