Manchester United are favorites to sign Mesut Ozil in the January transfer window according to the latest odds.
United already signed Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez and could be set to sign his former teammate Ozil.
The Red Devils did lose Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal in exchange for Sanchez but were Ozil to join it would be a bitter pill to swallow.
The playmaker of Turkish origin has been in great form picking up two Arsenal player of the month awards for November and December.
It would not be a surprise for him to win the award for a third successive month.
Ozil has been in wonderful form but he will be a free agent at the end of the season unless he strikes an agreement over a contract extension with Arsenal.
The 2014 World Cup winner has not ruled out staying and the latest reports do suggest that he will stay until at least the end of the season.
The problem is Arsenal could cash in this month or risk losing him for free over the summer.
Ozil has a total of four goals and six assists in all competitions this season.
United boss Jose Mourinho is no stranger to working from Ozil as he was his manager at Real Madrid were they lifted the La Liga title together.
