Trabzonspor’s Jose Bosingwa has been included in Portugal’s 24 man squad by new manager Fernando Santos.
Santos was appointed by the Portuguese FA as the national team head coach on 23 September 2014 in place of Paulo Bento.
The 60-year-old manager has left Fenerbahce’s Raul Meireles out of the squad.
Former Turkish Super League player Ricardo Quaresma has been included in the squad while Hugo Almeida has been left out.
Portugal face Armenia on Friday 14 November.
Portugal’s 24 man squad:
Goalkeeper: Anthony Lopes (Olympique Lyon), Beto (Sevilla), Rui Patricio (Sporting Lizbon)
Defence: Jose Bosingwa (Trabzonspor), Bruno Alves (Fenerbahçe), Cedric (Sporting Lizbon), Jose Fonte (Southampton), Pepe (Real Madrid), Raphael Guerreiro (Lorient), Ricardo Carvalho (Monaco), Tiago Gomes (Braga).
Midfield: Adrien (Sporting Lizbon), Joao Mario (Sporting Lizbon), William Carvalho (Sporting Lizbon), Andre Gomes (Valencia), Joao Moutinho (Monaco), Tiago (Atletico Madrid)
Foward: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Danny (Zenit), Eder (Braga), Helder Postiga (Deportivo la Coruna), Nani (Sporting Lizbon), Ricardo Quaresma (Porto), Vieirinha (Wolfsburg)
I really like this new coach and his selection of players. Quaresma should have been in the world cup 100% , and Danny should have also been included.
