Bournemouth striker Enes Unal has suffered a significant injury setback, tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a training session.
The 27-year-old Turkish international, who joined the Cherries permanently last summer, will undergo surgery and is expected to be sidelined for an extended period.

This is the second time in his career that Unal has suffered an ACL injury, having previously faced a similar setback while at Getafe.
“First and foremost, our thoughts are with Enes at this moment as he begins to process another significant period of rehabilitation ahead,” the club said in a statement.
“He will undergo surgery to repair the ligament in the coming days and the club’s medical and performance staff will support him in every way possible throughout.”
Unal’s injury is a major blow to Bournemouth, who are currently seventh in the Premier League and challenging for a place in European competition.
The Cherries have already lost Brazilian striker Evanilson to a broken foot, further depleting their attacking options.
To address this, Bournemouth have recalled young striker Daniel Jebbison from his loan spell at Watford.
The 21-year-old will provide additional attacking depth for the remainder of the season.
Unal’s injury is a significant setback for both the player and the club, but Bournemouth will be hoping to maintain their strong form in his absence.
