The Turkish international told the Daily Echo: “It was lovely.
“It was like how I imagined – a family atmosphere, like fairly small, and when we get the fans behind us, it was really great.
“And they were pushing us -it’s really important.
“We will try to do the same and give them a lot of energy from the pitch.
“They respond great to that. It was a lovely atmosphere.”
Despite a winless run in the Premier League, Unal is confident in the young Bournemouth squad. He sees “great quality and young talent” within the team and believes they need to keep improving and working together.
Unal also credited manager Scott Parker as a key factor in his decision to join Bournemouth, calling him “an amazing coach” and “one of the reasons I am here.”
“I mean from the first day I arrived here I saw the quality,” Unal added.
“I think we have a great, great team, great quality, young (talent).
“And we need to keep on building and working on things, details and everything.
“But we have an amazing coach now, amazing gaffer.
“One of the reasons I am here is because of him.
“I’ve been just enjoying every teammate, so it’s great.”
With a potential FA Cup start against Leicester City on the horizon, Unal expressed his eagerness to play and contribute to the team’s success.
“Let’s see what’s going to happen now, what’s the idea of the gaffer,” he said.
“I will just be ready. I would like to play.
“I’m looking forward to it and hopefully we win and maybe go on further.”
