Burnley Striker Wants to Move to Galatasaray in January

Burnley striker Wout Weghorst who is on loan at Hoffenheim is reportedly prepared to leave the Bundesliga club in January to join Galatasaray according to the Star newspaper.

Weghorst was deemed surplus to requirements at Burnley and was sent out on loan to Hoffenheim in the summer in order to get more first-team football.

Weghorst has had a mixed start to his Bundesliga career, but he scored his second goal of the season in a 3-2 home defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

Galatasaray has made an approach for Weghorst, who previously played for Beşiktaş in the Turkish Süper Lig. The Dutch striker is reportedly unhappy at Hoffenheim and is keen to join Galatasaray.

The Lions is hoping to sign Weghorst in order to improve their squad quality and edge ahead of their rivals Fenerbahçe.

Galatasaray have started working on a potential transfer for Weghorst.

The club management is planning to bring in a few key players in January and is hoping to get the most out of the signings they make. Galatasaray has had a good record in the transfer market in recent seasons and is hoping to continue that success in January.

Lions manager Okan Buruk has reportedly given his approval to the signing of the 31-year-old striker.

Buruk has identified two or three positions that he wants to strengthen in January. He has reportedly asked for at least three transfers, of which one or two could be Turkish players.
