Burnley winner to face Turkish side in third round if they defeat Aberdeen

Istanbul Basakehir could end up playing Premier League side Burnley in the Europa League third qualifying round.

Basaksehir qualified for the Europa League after finishing the 2018/19 season in third place behind Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

Burnley will take Aberdeen in the Europa League second-round this week.

The willer will face Basaksehir on August 9 and 16.

The Istanbul based club ended last season just three points behind champions Galatasaray.

Burnley meanwhile finished up in seventh spot and secured European football for the first time in 51 years.

Basaksehir are managed by the former Turkey national team boss Abdullah Avci.

Former Arsenal and Manchester City players Emanuel Adebayor and Gael Clichy both play for Basaksehir.

Meanwhile, Besiktas take on Faroe Islands Premier League side B36 Torshan on Thursday night.

The Black Eagles impressed in the UEFA Champions League last season but only managed a fourth-place finish in the league.
