Celtic legend Chris Sutton has urged his former club to sell star centre-back Dedryck Boyata this summer.

Boyatta has been closely linked with a move away from the Scotish Premier league champions after entering the final 12-months of his contract.

The Belgium international was also criticised by Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers for not making himself available for a UEFA Champions League qualification clash.

Turkish-Football recently reported that Galatasaray are lining up a bid for the defender.

Despite Celtic failing to sign a replacement for Boyatta, Sutton believes the Bhoys should sell the defender regardless.

“They’ve got to sell him. They can’t rely on a Judas for the rest of the season”, Sutton told BT Sport.

“There’s no way Boyata can have a future [at Celtic]. I’m still confused about is he injured, isn’t he injured. Mentally injured?

“Celtic need to sort the situation out. It’s getting serious.”

Meanwhile, the Spanish outlet Marca have linked Boyata with a £10m move to Sevilla.

Galatasaray are desperate to sign a defender befor September 1 after failing to sign Jason Denayer from Man City.

Maicon has also been closely linked with a move away from the club which would leave Galatasaray with just one senior centre-back in their squad.
