Celtic and Leeds have joined the race to sign Manchester City star defender Jason Denayer.

Denayer has been closely linked with a move to Galatasaray in recent weeks however, the Istanbul giants have been unable to agree on a deal with Man City.

The Belgium international spent last season on loan with the Lions and helped them lift the Super Lig title.

Denayer has also previously spent a season on loan with Celtic.

According to the Scotsman, both Celtic and Leeds are also interested in signing the Belgium international this summer.

Denayer was included in Pep Guardiola’s pre-season squad and has featured in the International Champions Cup.

However, the 23-year-old finds himself down the pecking order at City behind John Stones, Vincent Kompany, Aymeric Laporte and Nicolas Otamendi.

The versatile defender established himself as a first team regular in Fatih Terim’s side last term and has two years remaining on his contract with the Citizens.

Galatasaray ended up winning the Super Lig for the 21st time and booking a place in the Champions League.

Denayer would return as a first-choice centre-back if he were to complete his third loan transfer to the Lions.
