Celtic target £13m Leicester City star as Boyata replacement who has been closely linked with Turkish Giants

Galatasaray have received a boost in their hopes of signing Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata.

According to the Leicester Mercury, Celtic are preparing for life without Boyata and are hoping to sign Leicester City’s new defender Filip Benkovic on a season-long loan.

Benkovic arrived at Leicester from Dinamo Zagreb in a deal worth £13 million.

Meanwhile,  Scottish Daily Mail state that Celtic will only allow Boyata to leave if they can bring in a replacement.

The news will be music to the ears of Galatasaray officials who are eager to sign Boyata this summer.

The Lions believe they can sign the Belgium international for a cut-price deal after he entered the final 12 months of his contract.

The Turkish newspaper Fanatik recently reported that Boyata has turned down an offer from Sevilla in favour of a move to Turkey.

However, Boyata was included in Brenden Rodgers Celtic squad which defeated Hamilton over the weekend. The 27-year-old scored the games only goal despite the hostile reception from fans.
