Galatasaray have received a major boost in their quest to sign Chelsea star centre-back Gary Cahill.
The Istanbul Giants were closely linked with a transfer deadline day move for the ex-England international over the summer.
Cahil opted to remain at Chelsea to battle for a first-team place. However, according to the BBC, the 33-year-old will ask for a move away from the club in January if he continues to be left out of the first team.
Chelsea’s newly appointed manager Maurizio Sarri has continued to omit Cahil from his match-day squad despite the defender being a key part of Antonio Conte’s side last season.
Cahil’s contract with the London based side expired at the end of the season.
