Chelsea ace offered lucrative deal from Turkish giants going into the last year of his contract

Galatasaray have made Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel a lucrative offer according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik.

The report does not actually delve into the figures but Mynet recently reported that the Lions are ready to offer £2.58 million per-season on a three-year deal.

Lions sporting director Nazifoglu revealed yesterday that he is fond of Mikel but that he has other targets on his shortlist as well.

“Mikel is a quality player and we have been interested but he is not our priority either, we have other players that are being targeted,” he was quoted as saying by Turkish-football.

Mikel is currently at the Rio Olympics with the Nigeria national team and has another year remaining on his current contract with Chelsea.

The Blues have however, yet to enter talks talks over negotiating a new deal meaning the Istanbul giants could end up signing him as a free agent in January – for next season.

Mikel has 10 years experience playing for Chelsea and will be going into his 11th season. The Nigerian international has lifted just about every domestic and European trophy during his time at the London based outfit.
