The Turkish sports newspaper report that the Black Eagles have made an enquiry and started initial talks with the Blues over a January move.

Besiktas are reportedly at the negotiations table with Chelsea after head coach Maurizio Sarri made it clear that he has no long-term plans for the striker.

Chelsea are prepared to sell Giroud in January but he has under 12 months left on his contract and Besiktas are not prepared to pay over the odds.

The Istanbul giants are in talks attempting to strike a mutually agreeable deal.

Besiktas would be able to offer Giroud an attractive wage packet after parting ways with Alvarro Negredo who was on over €4m per-season.

The Super Lig outfit have made signing a new striker a priority after losing Negredo following the end of the summer transfer window after his contract was terminated by mutual agreement.

Giroud has two assists in all competitions this season and despite struggling for playing time early on he has started the last three Premier League games.

The 32-year-old forward has yet to sign a new deal with Chelsea and will be a free agent at the end of the season unless he does.
