Ricardo Quaresma has enjoyed a renaissance over the past few years.
The Portugeuse winger has won back to back league titles with Besiktas and even lifted the 2016 European Championship with his national side.
The 34-year-old was tipped for greatness when he burst onto the scene alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Sporting Lisbon.
Quaresma did however, struggle to reach his potential at the likes of Barcelona, Inter and Chelsea.
Blues coach Eddie Newton revealed what went wrong with the Portugal international at the London based outfit.

Newton told DHA: “Quaresma was so talented when he joined Chelsea.
“I don’t think his talent and quality have ever been in doubt. The problem was his attitude. He was not successful at Chelsea due to his mental frailties, unwillingness to work hard and lack of tactical discipline at the time.
“He has come a long way since then, he is playing the best football of his career on a consistent basis.
“He is a lot more disciplined tactically, he has a better lifestyle and has worked on the physical side of his game.”
Quaresma made just five appearances for Chelsea during his time at the club on loan from Inter Milan in 2009.
The winger joined Besiktas next before moving the Al Ahli, Porto and then returned to the Istanbul giants in 2015.
Quaresma has two goals and 11 assists in all competitions for the Black Eagles this season.
The experienced winger is almost certain to start for the Istanbul giants against Bayern Munich in the Champions League Last 16 on Tuesday.
