Chelsea Coach Tips Cenk Tosun To Be A Success At Everton & Admits Scouting Him

Cenk Tosun has struggled for playing time over the past few weeks at Everton.

Tosun joined the Toffees on a big money move from Besiktas in January but despite starting his first two games he has been dropped for the last three matches.

Sam Allardyce cited fitness concerns as being behind his decision.

Tosun has had a chance to get up to speed as part of the Toffees warm-weather training camp in Dubai this week.

The 26-year-old has however, been backed by several players, coaches and pundits to succeed at Everton.

Chelsea coach Eddie Newton became the latest player to come out and publically back the Turkey international.

Newton also revealed having scouted Tosun during his time at Besiktas and being left impressed with the striker.

“He is a very good player, I watched him at Besiktas and was impressed,” Newton told DHA.

“In football you rarely sign a player and expect immediate results, especially in January.

“He will need time.

“The Premier League is the fastest in the world and it takes time to adjust.

“Cenk is settling in and adapting.

“I really think he is going to do well in England but needs to be given a chance and time to settle in first.”
