Chelsea Defender In Talks With Turkish Club Over Summer Transfer

Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo is in talks with Kasimpasa over staying on for another season on loan.

The Istanbul based outfit want to keep the Nigeria international on after his second loan stint at the club.

Kasimpasa vice-president Hasan Hilmi Oksuz confirmed the talks and underlined they are trying to get the move wrapped up as soon as possible.

Oksuz said: “We haven’t completed the transfer yet but our priority is Kenneth Omeruo.

“We want him on loan again, there are a few details to sort out but talks are ongoing.”

Despite joining Chelsea in 2012 Omeruo has never actually played a game for the Blues.

The 24-year-old has spent three seasons in Turkey, two temporary moves to Kasimpasa and a loan stint at Alanyaspor.

Omeruo has also played for Middlesbrough and ADO Den Haag on loan spells.

The Nigeria defender made 28 league appearances and scored a goal in all competitions.

Omeruo played a total of 2407 minutes, averaging 1.7 tackles-per-game.

Kasimpasa finished the league campaign in a respectable 8th position.

The defender has been called up to the Nigeria national team squad ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
