Chelsea director holds transfer talks with Champions League side over sale of long-serving defender

Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahil has been closely linked with a surprise move to the Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray.

The England international has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following the appointment of Maurizio Sarri.

According to the Turkish outlet AMK, Galatasaray President Mustafa Cengiz has held talks with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia.

Per the source, Cengiz is trying to sign Cahil on a free this summer.

The 32-year-old was left out of Sarri’s 18-man squads for all of Chelsea’s games so far this season.

Cahil has under 12-months remaining on his contract with the London based club.

Galatasaray are keen on signing a new defender after failing to re-sign Jason Denayer on loan.
