Chelsea Face Competition For The Next Donnarumma From Man City & Barcelona

Berke Ozer Altinordu Manchester City Chelsea

Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Altinordu wonderkid Berke Ozer but face competition from Manchester City and Barcelona according to the Sun.

Per the source, the Blues have been scouting Ozer for months.

The 18-year-old keeper has already made first-team appearances and been called up to the Turkey national squad.

The rising star has been nicknamed the next Gianluigi Donnarumma, 19, who made his Serie A debut aged just 16 for AC Milan and won his first Italy cap at 17.

The reigning Premier League champions offered Altinordu a partnership deal to loan players as part of their move for Ozer.

Altinordu coach Huseyin Eroglu said: “Chelsea have been sending scouts to Izmir for Berke Ozer, and to take a look at our project.

“At our last meeting they said they could send us players on loan.

“But they seemed shocked when I said we had to politely decline.

“We are not interested in training up other clubs’ players. Our mission is clear.

“Altinordu will develop local youths to create a complete academy-developed squad.”

Turkish-Football can confirm that Chelsea and City have been scouting Ozer.

I am actually at Altinordu for a few days so will keep our followers updated with any developments regarding the rising star – or any other players being linked with a move to Europe.

The club boast the most impressive academy setup in Turkey and recently developed Roma wonderkid Cengiz Under as well as 21-year-old Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu.
