Chelsea mock Arsenal following defeat with Didier Drogba photo
Chelsea took another step towards lifting the Premier League table after beating Arsenal 3-1 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues rubbed salt in their London rivals wounds following the victory, sharing a changing room picture with Didier Drogba alongside the caption: ‘No stranger to seeing the Blues beat Arsenal – Didier Drogba was at the game on Saturday to cheer on the team!’
Drogba was a constant nemesis to Arsenal and had an astonishing scoring record against the North London based outfit.
The Ivorian striker found the back of the net 16 times in 17 appearances against Arsenal in all competitions.
Drogba even managed to score against Arsenal when he wasn’t a Chelsea player. The powerful forward netted for Galatasaray against the Gunners in the Champions League.
The 38-year-old bagged a brace for the Lions against Arsenal at the Emirates back in 2015 in the Emirates Cup adding to his incredible goal tally.
Drogba was present at Stamford Bridge to watch his former team beat Arsenal on Saturday 4 February.
The striker holds legendary status at Chelsea, winning four Premier League titles, four FA Cup trophies and the first Champions League trophy in the history of the club.
Drogba is also a fan favourite among Galatasaray fans where he won the Turkish Cup, Turkish league and Turksh Super Cup.
Chelsea are currently first in the Premier League, nine points clear of second placed Tottenham and 12 points ahead of Arsenal who have dropped into fourth position.
The Blues take on Burnley next in the Premier League on Sunday 12 February 2017. Burnley are currently 12th in the league on 29 points.
