Chelsea receive offer for defender, talks reach advanced stage with newly promoted Turkish side

Chelsea receive offer for defender Kenneth Omeruo

Goztepe have made an offer for Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo according to reports in Turkey.

Fotomac report that Omeruo the newly promoted Super Lig outfit are in advanced stage negotiations with the Nigerian international defender.

Per the source, fellow newly promoted side Sivasspor are also in the race but Goztepe have made a more attractive offer.

Omeruo is no stranger to top-tier Turkish football.

The 23-year-old has spent the last two seasons as Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.

The powerful defender scored one goals in 26 appearances for Alanyaspor and helped them achieve their main objective of league safety.

Omeruo told Completesportnigeria last week that he hopes to stay in the Premier League next season but revealed accepts he may not get his wish.

Omeruo was quoted as saying: “Playing in the English Premier League will be great, but it will be down to the kind of offers I get.”

Despite joining Chelsea in 2012 Omeruo has actually never played for the Blues and has been loaned out every season.

The defender has had four loan stints at Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.
