Chelsea Plotting Move For 17-Year-Old Wonder Kid Confirms Manager

Altinordu manager Huseyin Eroglu has confirmed that Chelsea have been scouting 17-year-old goalkeeper Berke Ozer.

The head coach revealed that the Blues have been sending scouts regularly to Izmir and that they are planning a move.

Eroglu also stated that the reigning Premier League champions offered Altinordu a partnership to loan players on their books.

The second-tier Turkish league side politely declined as they have an ambitious project to develop a fully academy developed side.

Eroglu said: “Chelsea have been sending scouts to Izmir for Berke Ozer and to take a look at our project.

“At our last meeting they said they could send us players on loan but they seemed shocked when I said we had to politely decline.

“We are not interested in training up other clubs players, our mission is clear. Altinordu will develop local youths to create a complete academy developed squad.”

Chelsea goalkeeper coach Christophe Lollichon and – loan player technical coach – Eddie Newton were in Turkey in January keeping tabs on Ozer.

“It was great to see the youngsters growing their own food and learning the importance of what they put inside themselves,” Newton added.

“They are gearing these kids up for life.

“Kids from all across Turkey and being developed into the stars of tomorrow.

“We were impressed with Berke and other players here, we’ll continue to scout them.”

The young keeper was recently named in the Guardian Next Generation series, 60 best young talents in world football.

Ozer has made six appearances in all competitions for Altinordu this season and has already been called up to the Turkey national team senior side.
