Chelsea transfer news: Fener make £15m Danish defender available

Fenerbahce are prepared to sell their star defender and Chelsea target Simon Kjaer over the upcomming summer transfer window.

A source close to the club has revealed to Turkish-Football that the club will need to sell players to meet FIFA Financial Fair play guidelines, if they miss out on UEFA Champions League football this season.

Per the source, Fener are prepared to let Kjaer go but only at the right price. Turkish-Football.com recently revealed that Chelsea have been scouting Kjaer and have made enquiries regarding the defender’s availability.

Fenerbahce are looking to raise approximately €25 million from selling players over the summer and will look to strengthen their side with loan deals. The Istanbul based club are also hoping to offload their out-of-favour striker Fernandao to the Chinese Super League.

Chelsea are currently in pole position in the Premier League with 63 points after 26 games. The Blues are a full ten points ahead of their rivals Tottenham who occupy second place.
