Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford has issued an apology after appearing to celebrate Arsenal’s 3-0 win over the Blues.
The young striker apologised to Chelsea fans after he liked Mesut Ozil’s Instagram photo celebrating Arsenal’s win at the weekend.
Ozil played a key role in the Gunners win over their London based rivals. The Germany international scored Arsenal’s third goal which wrapped up all three points for Arsene Wenger’s side. Arsenal’s win was their first Premier League victory over their rivals since October 2011.
Hector Bellerin and Mesut Ozil took to social media after the game to celebrate their victory and it seems Bamford was also keen to join in on Arsenal’s celebrations. The 23-year-old liked images from Ozil and Bellerin after the game.
However, a number of eagle-eyed Chelsea fans called out Bamford forcing him to issue the following apology
Wth regards 2the Instagram pics I liked, was only liking my friends pics as I've done many a time. No shade or disrespect intended. Sorry!
