Arda Turan has taken to social media to bid Atletico Madrid farewell and thank the fans for the support they have shown him over the years.
The 28-year-old posted a picture of the Atleti fans chanting Turan’s name on his official Facebook page alongside the caption “thanks.”
The Turkish international joined Atleti on a £12 million move from Galatasaray in 2011 and went onto win just about every domestic and European trophy since joining the Rojiblancos.
The 28-year-old became the first Turkish international to win the La Liga and also lifted the Spanish Cup, Europa League, European Super Cup and reached the Champions League final.
Turan has now all but confirmed his exit is imminent after posting a video message. Chelsea are currently the bookmakers favourite to sign the bearded winger with Betvictor giving the Turkish international odds of 1.33 to sign for the Blues.
The Blues are however expected to face competition form both Barcelona and Manchester United who have been linked with the Atleti winger over the past week.
Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut already confirmed that his client will be joining a club over the next few days and is unlikely to wait until mid July to complete his move.
The Turkish international has two years remaining on his contract with Atleti and has a release clause worth €41 million. Turan provided six assists and scored three goals in 46 appearances for Atletico Madrid in all competitions last season.
